Eco Friendly Way Pays to be Green

Welcome to my Blog ,where the focus will lie firmly on sharing the joys of an eco friendly way of life and encouraging other like minded people, to adopt a greener way of life.

Hopefully together we can share our tips and information leading to an easier path for taking the best options for us and for the benefit of this wonderful planet, that we have the responsibility of safeguarding and improving for future generations.

My goal is to develop a community of eco friendly people that can inspire each other to have positive impact on their environment, as a result of their way of life and lifestyle changes.

There was a time not that long ago incidentally! when people would be frowned upon for even being remotely sympathetic towards eco friendly habits and green issues, relating to the welfare of the environment and our planet. Indeed being a member and actively involved with Greenpeace campaigns, would warrant some family members to seriously contemplate calling for the men in white coats!

But surprisingly, maybe as a vote winning tactic, all the major political parties have joined the accelerating green band wagon, voicing their concern for the enironment or their desire to make number 10 Downing Street their preferred habitat!

Some of their policies might indeed be a token effort, but in the wake of alarming evidence regarding the destruction of our planet, even our oblivious and selfish poiticians realise that suddenly these green issues have to be addressed.

As for the ever sceptical public and Joe Bloggs, fed the daily negative diet of tabloid newspapers and the tv news, ever suspicious of any change of habits, the one thing which will get his attention is being stung in his pocket i.e. the financial impact!

Take for example, the new car tax bands and fuel economy of cars. Suddenly the consumer down at the plush car sales showroom seems to have taken leave of his senses by making strange noises, asking such questions as: 'what is the co2 rating of this car in relation to fuel emissions?' or in layman's terms ' , 'how much road tax will I have to pay each year gov?' and 'how economical is this car, how many miles per gallon?' or did he really mean 'how much money will I have to hand ver to the greedy chancellor at the pumps next year, given that at least 75% of the cost of fuel goes at the speed of lightening, like James Bond's Aston Martin to roost at 11 Downing Street in Mr Darling's sweaty palms, so that he can bail out yet another bank!

Suddenly we have all turned a funny green colour and this country has been taken over by a strange species of a new breed of incredible hulks. Ordinay people are suddenly talking a new language, muttering strange words such as 'fuel emissions, energy efficiency, recycling, reduce your carbon footprint and being eco friendly'

Whatever next?
